Welcome to the Eddsfield info.

Hi, my name is Edd Peacock and back in the early nineties I wanted to create an airfield and fly from it. Others joined in and some, called us crazy, but as we where nuts about flying, we were determined to make it happen.

We wanted it to be an airfield where there were no politics. no committees and no hassle. Just somewhere to come flying, or in the case of the British weather, somewhere to come and talk about flying.

To my good fortune I found others with the same idea, and the dream started to come to life. With the help of Ray Thompson and Steve Mance, an airfield was created, deep in the Yorkshire countryside.

What to call it, well airfields are normally named after their geographical locations, so Steve decided on Eddsfield, as indeed the airfield was in my field, and the CAA liked it, as the name fits neatly on a half mill chart.

Set in the rolling hills of the East Yorkshire Wolds, with dales, villages and woodland all around, we probably have the best located airfield you will find, and the views are breathtaking.

We do not operate a "club" as one of the aims of the founder members was to provide a friendly and personal atmosphere, an aim I hope we have achieved.

So why not drop in and see us, as the kettle is always on.
